World’s Fair - The Explorer’s Tea

Sorry, elegant ladies and dapper gentlemen, but the 2010 Fantasy Tea is Sold Out.

Tickets are still available for the Time Travelers' Gala, and of course, memberships to Costume College.

Is the deepest secret of your heart to explore the far reaches of the world? Have you slogged your way to the source of the Amazon? Climbed the mighty Himalayas? Skated across the vast ice of the Northern or Southern poles? Perhaps your greatest adventure is to the corner tea shop where you peruse the daily papers for tales of those that dare to explore farther than you would ever dare. Either way, come join us for a Grand Tea celebrating the dauntless, adventuring spirit that resides in each of us.

We shall sit at lush tables set with delectable comestibles fit for the Queen and imbibe that most glorious of elixirs; Tea!

Steampunk attire is highly encouraged, but not required. For those you whom the Steampunk bug has yet to bite, Grand Victorian, Neo-Victorian, Edwardian, Neo-Edwardian, or any other fancy dress suitable for tea is delightful and will be greatly admired.
Our Grand Tea will be served at 2:00 p.m. Should you wish to have the vegetarian option, be sure to return the Tea form, included with these registration materials, to the address on the insert by May 15th, 2010. If you wish to have the regular tea, you do not need to return the form. Please note that no substitutions or changes can be made to any of the menu choices.
Tickets to the Explorer’s Tea are currently sold out. For those of you that sent funds for a ticket, and were unable to obtain one, watch the CGW Yahoo group for announcements of available tickets. Reselling of tea tickets between private parties will not be monitored by CGW in any way. No tickets will be available at the Tea. There may also be tickets available via private sale during the weekend of Costume College. Please check the Message Board, which will be posted near the Information Desk during Costume College.

And for those curious to know, yes, we will have some prizes! Hats, ensembles, accessories, fantastic gadgetry, and who knows what else, will all be considered during the Tea, and prizes will be given according to our judges fancy.
Any questions regarding the Explorer’s Tea should be directed to the Tea Mistress, Elizabeth Reed, at chartreusekitty@gmail.com

Below are some photos from the 2007 Tea, whose theme was "Alice in Wonderland: Tea with the Mad Hatter"
